Frequently Asked Questions
*How much does it cost to meet with Attorney Parini?
There is no charge for an initial consultation. At this first meeting we will discuss your legal problem completely. Any advice that can be offered at that time will be given without any charge to the client.
*Why shouldn't I contact a law firm that advertises on television or on billboards?
It is entirely up to you who you should contact for legal help. However, you should NOT believe that attorneys who advertise their services on television, the radio or on billboards are any better than any other attorney. In fact, many of those firms act as legal factories where your file is assigned a number and you deal almost exclusively with legal assistants or paralegals. At my firm, you will deal exclusively with me on each and every aspect of your claim. Your case is way too important for you to not have your questions answered directly by your attorney. Think of the old telephone game - by the time you have told the receptionist, who has told the assistant, who has told the paralegal, who has told the attorney - how much information has been lost?
*How long does it take to settle my case or go to trial?
That depends a lot on the specific circumstances of your case. However, there is expertise in moving a case quickly through the system. You need an attorney who will be aggressive in representing your interests to make sure your case is handled carefully without unnecessary delay. You need someone who has worked for the insurance companies who knows how and why cases get delayed.
*Why is it important to have an attorney who has a lot of trial experience if most cases settle?
The best way to get your case to settle while achieving your goal for the case is to be ready to win the case at trial. The preparation for trial must begin from the very beginning of the case. If the insurance company knows you are ready and prepared to win, they will want to settle with you right away to avoid that result. This is why I will tell you the best training I have had for assisting my clients with resolving their case quickly is by handling many trials.
